Floral Arrangement
A bouquet of flowers can bring life and light into a room. To make a beautiful arrangement, fill the bottom of a glass vase with colored pebbles. Make sure the vase is at least halfway full with water. Buy an assortment of flowers at your local grocery store. Some common flowers that can be used are roses, lilies, tulips, carnations and daisies. Cut the flowers to your desired height and arrange in the vase. Add babies breath and ferns to fill in areas that are sparse. Tie a ribbon or balloons around the vase.
Cookie Bouquet
A beautiful arrangement of yummy cookies not only makes an attractive centerpiece, but can also be taken home by the mother-to-be or your guests. When creating your own cookie bouquet, use a small painted bucket or box as your base. Place floral foam in your base. Bake various baby shaped cookies with sticks inserted in them. Decorate your cookies and artistically place them in the floral foam. Finish the look with tissue paper, ribbons and bows.
Potted Lollipops
Take a terracotta pot and decorate it by painting cute patterns on it. You can also sponge paint them by cutting shapes out of sponges, like ducks or baby bottles. Fill the pot with floral foam and then arrange an assortment of shaped lollipops in it.
Cupcake Stands
Bake and decorate your own cupcakes. Add a hint of color and shimmer to them by sprinkling colored sugar on top. You can make your own colored sugar by shaking together one cup of sugar and two drops of food coloring in a jar for about a minute. Add more food coloring until you get your desired shade. Place your cupcakes on a stand and display them for everyone to see.
Diaper Cakes
A diaper cake is an inedible cake made from, you guessed it, diapers! Diaper cakes are not that difficult to make, and can be decorated to match any theme. The best thing about them is that they can be taken home by the mother-to-be and used on her little one. We found a great instructional video that takes you through the process step by step.
